Sarah said...

"This red couch is awesome." I said running and jumped on it. It was red velvet. I loved it!
"No." Spence said giving me a strange look. "You're kidding right?"
"No. I Like it." I said.
"Okay. . ." He said.
"Excuse me?" I said to a worker. He walked over to me. "How much is this couch?" I asked.
"Four hundred." He said.
"I'll take it." I said.
"What?" Spence asked. "You didn't look at any of the other ones."
"Do you take checks?" I asked.
"Yes we do."
"Done." I said.
"Do you need it delivered?" He asked.
"Yes I do." I said.
"Follow me." He said.
"Lola, this is crazy," Spence said. "There are so many nice ones here."
"Who's it for?" I asked him.
"What do you mean?"
"Who's the couch for?" I asked.
"You."
"Okay then. It doesn't matter if you like it or not." I said.
"I guess I think about the future and you don't." He said walked ahead.
I ran up to him. "What are you talking about?" I asked.
"I don't like the couch." He said.
"And why should that matter?" I asked.
"What if we end up moving in together?" He asked.
"Then I'll put MY couch in MY study." I said rudly. "But I am not moving in with any guy any time soon!"
He sighed.
I payed for the couch and they said they would deliver it tomorrow around noon. I was excited! I ignored the frustration I had with Spence. I bought a cheep set of dishes, silverware and some storage countainers and we went back to the condo. I unloaded all of it into the drawers and cabinets I wanted to the stuff in. He sat on the floor quietly the whole time I did it.
"Where are you sleeping tonight?" He asked, finally breaking the silence.
"Here."
"On the floor?" He asked.
"Yeah, sure. Why not?"
"How are you going to get to work?" He asked.
"I don't know. I'll call Terrance." I said.
"No. I'll come get you. Sorry for being a jerk." He said.
"That would be silly, because they live much closer to me." I said.
He sighed. "Whatever."
"Let's go grocery shopping so I can fill up my fridge." I said.
He just nodded. We went to the store and I got a bunch of groceries to fill the pantry and the fridge. "I need a TV." I said as we sat down on the floor in the empty living room. He put his arm around me. "Yes you do." He said.
"But I should probably get a bed next." I said.
He nodded. "Probably a good idea." He looked at me and smiled. I smiled back. "Sorry for the way I acted earlier. I guess I was just never one to think very far into the future." I said.
"It's okay. Maybe I shouldn't even be thinking about that stuff yet." He said.
"No. I think it's sweet." I said.
He smiled. "Good."
He went back to his place and came back with some blankets and pillows. We set up a bed on the floor and layed down. It was way before my bed time, but I fell asleep soon after anyway. I was pretty tired from the night before still.
