"Just pick something!" I shouted. "Denny's?" He asked. "How many times do I have to tell you?" I said. "Anywhere BUT Denny's. Fuck." "McDonalds?" He suggested. "Here I am trying to eat healthy for once in my life and you keep suggesting fast food." I said. "You said to just pick something!" He said. Oz and I bickered a lot. It was as if we were bother and sister. "Alright, fine. Just go to the Cookie Corner." I said. He rolled his eyes and parked in front of the Cookie Corner. It was a small cafe on the corner of 5th & Vine. From the outside, it looked run down. The inside was very cute and home-like though. Did I just use the word cute? "Are you ever NOT daydreaming?" Oz asked as we walked in the door. "Fuck you." I said. "We don't do that REMEMBER?" He said. "It's your number rule for us." "Fuck you." I giggled. He pushed me up to the counter. "Tell Darla what you want." He said. "Oh hey guys." She said smiling. We were already regulars at the Cookie Corner. We ended up there a lot. Darla was a fifteen. Her Mom, who went by the name Cookie, owned the cafe. Darla was stuck working there on most weekends and week nights when she wasn't in school. "The ussual?" She asked. "I think I'll get the Moon Latte this time." I told her. "Oh living life on the edge." She said laughing. "You know it." I said. I always ordered some type of Latte. Ussually, the Chai Latte. "Toast with butter?" She asked Oz. "Yup." He answered. "And the Sunday paper." He picked up a copy of it from the bin on front of the counter. He always bought the Sunday paper so he could read the comics section. "I'll just have a peice of crum cake." I said. We sat down by the window. I sat there bored while he read and laughed at the stupid comics. I watched people walk by. I always saw the most interesting people walk by me in Chicago. "Mind if we make a stop at the Piggy Wiggly?" I asked. "Nope. What do you need?" He asked. "Oz, we have nothing to eat. I think it's about time we go grocery shopping." I said. He sighed. "How about you just go?" "Nope. We are in this together." I said. "Fine, but don't take forever okay?" He said. "We'll see. It may take a while considering we have NOTHING at home." I said. We finished our food and left. We parked at the Piggly Wiggly and got out. I made him walk over and get a cart. "Why are you making me push the cart?" He asked. I giggled. "Just because." "What?" "I didn't want mucus, vomit, shit, piss, spit, snot or anything else that could possibly be on that thing." I said. "What?" He asked as he took his hands off the cart right away. I laughed. "It's okay. We'll wash your hands when we get home." He gave me the strangest look of disgust. "It's okay. We'll get some Anti-Bacterial Soap." I told him. He shook his head and started pushing the cart again. We went down every isle picking out things we needed. I wasn't much of a cook, so I got lot's of frozen stuff. Oz kept wining and bitching the whole time. When we got back home, he just sat down on the couch. "Uh, a little help please!" I said as I came in struggling with my hands full of groceries. He rolled his eyes and went outside. We brought in all the bags and I put everything away while he finished watching his Batman video. As I went to make myself a sandwich, I smelled pot. "I'm eating, Oz." I said. "Sorry." He said. He got up and went to his bedroom. I just laughed. I sat down with my sandwich and turned off Batman. I flipped through the channels and stopped on Dr. 90210. It was one of my Guilty Pleasures and Oz always made fun of me for liking it. There was a knock on the door. "Oz!" I said. "Got it!" He said running through the living room and opening the door. "Oh, it's just you." He said. "Who are you being mean to?" I asked. "Carmen." I heard. I laughed as she walked into the apartment. Carmen was the first friend I made when we moved to Chicago. I met her at a bar the first time Oz and I went out to get familiar with the city. She had long dark red hair curly hair. She was really pretty. I always teased her about the two little freckles she had bellow her left eye. They were cute. She looked really young, but she was actually a few years older than me. "Loser." She told him. I laughed. He went back to his room. She sat down on the recliner that was next to the couch and layed back. "Ew! What the hell are you watching!" She said as she covered her eyes. I looked at the TV. They were giving a woman liposuction. "I love this shit." I said. "Gross, tell me when it's over." She said. I laughed. "Shut it." She said. "I let Jimi run the store today." I told her. "Really?" She said surprised. "Yeah. I'll have to go check on things in a little bit." I said. "It's your day of." She said. "Forget about it." "Maybe I'll just call." I said. "Do that. Then we'll go do something fun." She said. "Like what?" I asked. "I don't know. Go look at graves or something." She said. "Excuse me?" "It's fun." "No, that's depressing." I said. "No. It's fun." She said again. "There are some really awesome ones out there." "No thank you." I said. "Lola, please?" She begged. "Yeah. Okay. I guess. . ." I said. I looked at the TV. "And you think I'M the one who likes weird stuff." I said. She laughed. "Eh, we all like weird stuff." She said. "Some weirder than others." I said looking at her. "Shut it." She said.
