Chapter Four

It was weird walking through the grave yard. Some of the gravestones looked neat, but it just felt strange.
One of my brothers had died when I was 4. I don't remember him much. I just have a few memories of the funeral.
I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at Carmen. She looked lost in thought too. She stopped suddenly infront of a simple gravestone. I was curious why she stopped because there was nothing spectacular about it. I looked back up at her and saw her face. I realized she had have known this person.
"Carmen?" I asked. She didn't look at me. I looked at the grave.
"He died young. Sixteen." I said, reading the dates.
"Yeah." She said.
"Did you know him?" I asked her.
"Brian Sherman." She said. "He died when he was sixteen. I was fifteen. He was my first love I guess." She said. I felt my heart sank.
"Carmen. I'm so sorry." I told her.
"It's okay. It was tragic, but that's what life is sometimes. I like to come and visit his grave once in a while. So he knows he isn't forgotten." She said.
"Are you okay?" I asked her. She looked up at me and smiled. Her depressed look went a way in a second.
"Yeah. Trust me, I am." She said.
"If this is why you wanted to come out with me, you could have just said so." I told her.
"I know. Some people think it's weird to come out with me though. And to tell you the truth, these places creep me out a little, and I don't like coming alone." She explained.
"It's not weird. I'll come out whenever you want me too." I told her. She smiled and hugged me.
"Come on. There is a gorgeous little chapel on the hill." She said, and took my hand.

After the graveyard we went to get some smoothies.
"So, Oz is still single, right?" She asked me.
"Yeah." I said. "Why?"
"Just curious." She said.
"Liar! Do you like him?" I asked her.
"Maybe a little." She said.
"Why?" I asked, and she laughed. "Come on next Saturday. We're going to a battle of the bands at some bar. I can't remember the name." I told her.
"At Rolling Rock?" She asked.
"Yeah! Thats it." I told her. "This hot guy, Spence, invited me."
"Spencer? He is so hot! My sister who is your age went to highschool with him. I've seen him a few times at his shop, and the Rolling Rock." She said.
"I just want to kiss his lip ring." I told her, and she laughed.
"Well I'll come. Make sure Oz is there." She said.
"I will!" I told her and laughed. When we were done we both split up. She had to go help her sister out with some wedding thing. She dropped me off at home, but instead of going inside I walked down to the store to check on Jimi. When I got there everything was in chaos. We were super busy for a Sunday. I walked back behind the counter and Jimi gave me a big hug.
"Oh thank god!" He said. "I called Peter and Rachel, but they can't make it for another half hour. It's been crazy all day! I've got just me, Warren, and Missy right now." He said.
"Jimi, why didn't you call me?" I asked. "Or Terrance, or Ange?" I asked him.
"Because. I wanted you to know I could handle this.
"And you can. You obviously did. Now don't worry. Peter and Rachel will be here soon. I'll help you at the register." I told him, and walked over to the other one.
"Thank you." He said.
"Any day!" A man said.
"Sorry sir. I can help you over here." I told him, and he walked over. It took about two hours for everything to finaly die down. When it did Jimi went to the office to do some paperwork for the day.
"Okay, why did you leave HIM in charge?" Warren asked me, stepping behind the counter.
"He did good." I said.
"I called Peter and Rachel. He couldn't find the list. I had their numbers in my phone." Warren said.
"It's okay. He's just a kind of nervous guy, thats all." I said.
"Yeah." Warren said.
"Besides, I know you wouldn't do it if I asked you to." I told him.
"Nope. Probably not." He said, and we both laughed. Peter walked over to me.
"Hey, mind if Rach and I head out now?" He asked.
"Yeah. Thanks for coming in." I said.
"Hey, anytime." Peter said, and left hand in hand with Rachel.
"Love. It makes me sick." warren said.
"Shut up you red haired freak! That's because you have never been in love." I told him.
"And you have?" He asked me.
"I thought I was." I said, then thought of my ex back in Arizona.
"Well love is for the fishes." He said, and stood up. I noticed he was wearing his loser fitting plaid pants, and sat up and yanked at them. They almost came down.
"HEY! Watchi it. If you want to see little War, your just have to ask gorgeous." He said, and fixed his pants.
"You aren't wearing boxers are you?" I asked him.
"Nope. Felt like airing out today." He said, and I laughed.
"That is disgusting!" I said.
"Hey, you wanna see, and you know it." He said, and winked again.
"Oh please!" I said, and stood up.
"Yeah, that's right! Walk away before tension is too great!" He said.
"Warren! Shut the fuck up!" Missy yelled at him, walking over to us.
"Thanks Missy." I told her.
"Girls got to stick together she said.
"You just say that because you're a lesbian." Warrn told her.
She just stuck her tounge out at him and walked away.
"Well, things have calmed down now, so I'm going to go home." I told Warren, and yawned.
"Okay. See you later." He said, and jumped over the counter, instead of walking around. He gave me a hug, and grabbed my but.
"HEY!" I said, and pushed him. He just laughed and walked over to the R&B section to take inventory. I left the store, but turned left, instead of right and headed down to Spencer's Board Shop.
