I woke up with Oz next to me and smiled. I thought about calling and having Jimi come go into work for me, but decided not to. I looked at the alarm and I still had about half an hour to sleep. I curled up with Oz and just layed with him until my alarm went off. I turned it off, and got up. I was surprised that Oz was still asleep. After I was done getting ready for work I went back to my room and he was finaly waking up. "Morning lazy." I said. "Shut up." He said, and yawned. "I don't want to go in today. We are short two guys which means I'm going to be stuck walking around the whole building all freaking night because J.R. is a fat ass." He said. I laughed. "It sucks! He's going to be at the security desk while I do all the rounds in the building." He said. "You will be fine. If you are tired tonight I'll give a nice long massage." I said, and sat down on the bed. "With a happy ending?" He asked. "NO! Get out of my bed so I can make it!" I yelled at him. "Your room is a total mess and you are worried about making your bed?" He asked. "Leave me alone. Go!" I told him, and he laughed. "Fine." He said, and got up and went to his room.
When I got to work at 10:00 Warren and Lydia were there. Warren was really quite. After a few minutes I asked Lydia why he wasn't acting like himself. He was just going through and taking inventory. Normaly when he did that he at least had his headphones on and was jaming. "I don't know. Something with his ex. I asked him, but he wouldn't tell me." She said. "Hmmm. I'll see if I can cheer him up." I told her, and she laughed. "Michael Jackson?" She asked. "Yup." I told her, and walked to the back. I went into the office and put in a CD of Michael Jackson hits. Thriller came on. I checked agian to make sure there were no customers in the store, then I burst through door and struck a pose just before the song started. When I was in Highschool my dance club had a whole rutine worked out to Thriller. Warren looked up at me and shook his head. "Its close to midnight and something evils lurking in the dark Under the moonlight you see a sight that almost stops your heart You try to scream but terror takes the sound before you make it You start to freeze as horror looks you right between the eyes, Youre paralyzed!" I lip-synced along with the lyrics. "Cause this is thriller, thriller night!" I said, and spun. I kept singing and dancing, and Lydia was dying. Warren was trying so hard not to laugh. I knew he knew all the words. "And no ones gonna save you from the beast about strike You know its thriller, thriller night Youre fighting for your life inside a killer, thriller tonight!" I jumped up on the counter on that verse. Warren couldn't resist. He came running up and jumped up there with me. I was impressed at well he had his Jackson moves down. "You hear the door slam and realize theres nowhere left to run You feel the cold hand and wonder if youll ever see the sun You close your eyes and hope that this is just imagination But all the while you hear the creature creepin up behind Youre out of time!" Warren sang a long. We jumped down off the counter and he spun me around. With how he was dancing I knew he had to have been in some kind of dance or theatre class. We kept singing and dancing. The rap at the end came on, And Warren pushed me away, pucked up the price scanner from the counter, and started rapping, "Darkness falls across the land The midnite hour is close at hand Creatures crawl in search of blood To terrorize yawls neighbourhood And whosoever shall be found Without the soul for getting down Must stand and face the hounds of hell And rot inside a corpses shell The foulest stench is in the air The funk of forty thousand years And grizzy ghouls from every tomb Are closing in to seal your doom And though you fight to stay alive Your body starts to shiver For no mere mortal can resist The evil of the thriller." The song ended, and all three of us started laughing so hard. I went to the back and put the 90's rock mix cd back on, then walked back out. "Feel better?" I asked Warren. "Yeah." He said. "Where the fuck did you learn to dance like that?" Lydia asked Warren. "Don't laugh. I was in Theatre in highschool. We did a production of The Wiz one year. "But you aren't black?" Lydia and I said at the same time. "Well no, but I still had the lead role." He said. "It was okay. No one seemed to care." "Wow. That is so cool." I said. "Where did YOU learn to dance like that?" He asked me. "Highschool dance. We had a routine for the song." I told him. "Nice." He said, and gave me a thumbs up. "Well you both suck. I WISH I could dance!" Lydia said. "Anyone can." Warren told her. "So War, whats with the sad look about you today?" I asked. "She moved. With her new boyfriend and MY fetus." He said. "I'm sorry." I told him. "It's all right. She said I can come out and visit whenever I want." He told me. "Thats good." I said. "Her new boyfriend is a total ass though. He hates me. He's some small time DUI lawyer that thinks he is a big shot and that I'm a total loser." He said. "Well fuck him!" Lydia said. "Thanks." Warren said. "Yeah. Hey, you've met my friend Carmen right?" I asked him. "Once." He said. "Hmm. Cute?" I asked him. "Yeah. I love red heads." He said. "I see where this is going." Lydia said. "What do you say you come over tonight. Hang out with me and Oz. I'll invite Carmen." I told him. "I don't know." He said. "It'll be fun, I promise." I told him. "If not I'll strip to 'ABC' for you." "FUCKING DEAL!" He shouted, and slammed his hand on the counter. "Allright. You can give me a ride home tonight then and help me cook dinner while we wait for Oz and Carmen." I told him. "Awesome." He said. "Matchmaker, matchamaker make me a match-" Lydia started to sing. "Oh shoosh Lydia!" I told her. "Shoosh? My two year old even tells me to shut up. Don't say shoosh!" She said, and I laughed.
