Sarah said...

"It's Carmen." I said looking at me phone.
"Answer it." Warren said.
"No. Fuck her." I said setting the phone down on the table.
"She is probably worried. Be an adult." He said.
I answered the phone irritated. "Yes?" I asked.
"Oh my god. Are you okay? I just saw on the news. . ." She hesitated. It sounded like she was about to cry.
"I'm fine, Carmen. Totally fine. I wasn't in the fire. I got out in plenty of time before it hit my apartment. I did lose all of my things, but I am totally fine." I said.
"I am so sorry about everything." She said crying.
"I really don't think that you are." I said.
"I regret it now." She said.
"I'm sure you do." I said, honestly. "But sorry does not cut it."
"I miss you."
"I miss you too, but I'm getting by fine without you." I said. "Don't worry about me, I'm fine."
"Lola."
"Goodbye." I said and hung up.
"See." Warren said. "You were honest and handled it like an adult."
"Yeah." I said.
We finished our meals and went back to his place. "Should I have forgiven her?" I asked Warren.
"I'd say what she did was terrible and it is definatly not something that could easily be forgiven." He said. "I don't think you're in the wrong."
"Okay. Just getting a second opinion." I said.
"Well, that's mine." He said smiling as he sat down on the couch next to me. He turned on the TV.
"I think you watch too much TV." I giggled.
"And you don't?" He asked.
"I do."
He laughed. "Well, then lets be TV addicts together." He said.
"Okay." I said laughing.
"Or we can pop in a movie and eat some popcorn." He suggested.
"That sounds good." I said smiling.
"I'll make some popcorn. Pick a movie." He said getting up. He went to the kitchen. I got on the floor and crawled to the movies under the entertainment center. "I haven't seen Black Hawk Down." I said.
"It's pretty good." He said. "You'll like all the hot bods."
I laughed.
He came back with a bowl of popcorn a few minutes later and we turned on the movie.
