Oz picked me up from work that night.
"Spence is taking me out to dinner." I said when I got in the car.
"He is?" He asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"Okay." Was all he said.
"You are okay with that?" I asked him.
"Yeah. You need to figure out where you stand with Spence before you can ever be with me." He said.
"Oz. It's more then that. I think I know this is going somewhere with him." I told him.
"Okay. Thanks for being honest, I guess." He said.
"Oz. I need some time here. I'm sorry. I don't want to hurt you, but I can't pretend there is nothing with Spence and I." I said.
"I know. We can drop it." He said, sounding irritated. I didn't bring it up again. I just got ready and went outside to call Spence and tell him where to pick me up. Oz didn't say anything to me the whole time I was getting ready. Spence was there in no time. He said he had a cousing that lived somewhere close by.
"God I love this car." I said, climbing in.
"She likes you too." He said, and I laughed.
"You look absolutely amazing." He said.
"Thanks." I said, looking down at my outfit. I was wearing black dickies and a balck and red striped baby-t that I found in my bag of clothes.
"Thanks. Warren's sister gave me these." I told him.
"All your band shirts and stuff are gone, aren't they?" He asked. I nodded, and blinked back some tears.
"Sorry. I'll help you get some new ones he said.
"How?" I asked.
"I'm taking you to as many concerts as I can." he said.
"You are?" I asked.
"Yeah. What better way to cheer you up?" He asked, and I laughed.
Dinner with him was great. We talked for hours. I learned a lot about him and his family that night. I felt bad for him. He had to grow up really fast after his mother died. And his father had been sick and getting worse for years. Since Spence was in highschool.
"You are absolutely amazing." I told him. He shook his head no.
"You are! You've been taking care of your brother and dad for what...seven, eight years now? And you have still opened up your own business, and never been selfish about anything." I said.
"Yeah. It's been hard. I've done my share of complaining." He said.
"As you deserve to." I said. He just smiled and drank some more wine.
"I normaly don't talk this much about it." He finaly said.
"Well, I'm glad you are. I like hearing about you, and your family." I told him. We talked for a while and headed back to his place after we had some Spumoni.
Smurf was up with Penny watching SNL reruns.
"HEY!" Smurf said when he saw me.
"We heard about what happened." Penny said. She stood up, and looked very pregnant. She wasn't that far along, but she had such a small frame, I think she looked farhter along then she was. I hugged her, and she sat back down.
"What? No hug from you?" I asked him. He blushed, and stood up and hugged me.
"Where have you been boss?" He asked me.
"Don't call me boss! Dork." I said, and messed up his hair. "I've been busy. I'm back now though."
"We're gonna go upstairs." Spence said. Smurf grinned.
"Don't make me beat the at grin of your face!" Spence said, and Smurf burst into laughter. I smiled, and just followed Spence up to his room. We layed down on his bed after he put some music on.
"Are you sure you aren't italian?" He asked me.
"Nope. Polish, and a little russian. Probably some Irish too. But no Italian." I told him, and he laughed. "Why?" I asked.
"Because, you knew what Spumoni was." He said.
"So? Lots of people know what that is." I told him.
"You pronounced it right though." He said, and I laughed.
"Spence. I need to know something right now." I told him. I was looking into his eyes.
"Anything." He said.
"Is this anything? Are we going anywhere with this?" I asked.
"Wow. I don't know, are we?" He asked.
"I want to." I said.
"Me too." He told me. I smiled, and kissed him roughly. We kissed for a while, and he stopped.
"Lola?" He asked.
"Yeah?" I asked, kind of confused.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked in a really nerdy voice. I started laughing, and slapped his shoulder.
"Not if you talk like that!" I said.
"Seriously." He said. I smiled.
"Yeah. I want to pick up where we left off." I told him. He smiled, and kissed me again.
