"So, you guys want to go hiking or something today?" Chris asked.
"Uh, sure." I said.
"Awesome. The weather isn't too hot yet." He said.
"Actually, I was thinking about looking up my old crewe." Oz said.
"Oh god. Your crewe?" I asked.
"Yup. Ahhh, the good old days." He said.
"You dork." I told him.
"You are just jealous because you weren't in the crewe." He said.
"Yeah, thats it." I told him.
"I have Sharons phone number. She'll know the rest of your old friends, I'm sure." Chris told him.
"Dude, thanks man!" Oz said, and pulled out his phone. Chris gave him Sharons number, and I felt a little jealous. I tried to dismiss it though. I felt silly for feeling that way. Oz stepped outside to call Sharon, and Chris and I sat and made fun of a table of very large biker women.
Chris laughed really loud, and one of them looked over at us.
"Good one!" He said really loud to me, and the lady turned away.
"Phew!" He said, and I giggled. Oz came back and sat down.
"Hey, so mind dropping me off at Sharon's on your way to go hiking? She lives close to Camelback Mountian." Oz asked.
"Sure. No problem." Chris said.
When we were done Chris drove us back to his house so we could change, and then we drove Oz out to his friends house. I was hoping she would come outside so I could see what she looked like, but she didn't. Oz just went right inside.
"Trust me, Sharon doesn't look half as good as you do." Chris told me as he pulled away.
"What?" I asked.
"You're jealous. But don't worry, Sharon is cute, but not like you. She is a little crazy too." Chris told me. I just turned and looked out the window.
We got to Camelback a few minutes later and parked, then headed up one of the trails. We didn't talk much, just enjoyed the hike. When we got to the top we sat down on a rock and looked down at the city below.
"Can I say something?" Chris asked me.
"Yeah." I told him.
"I never got to apologize for everything." He said.
"It's old news now." I told him.
"Not for me! I think about what happened every day, and hate myself for it." He said.
"It was a big mess. Don't worry about it now." I told him.
He reached up and touched the side of my face and turned my head.
"I'm sorry. For everything." He said. I hadn't thought about what happened since I left, so thinking about it was starting to upset me. I turned away and looked back down the trail. I thought back to the mess of events that caused me to move in the first place.

I still didn't know all the details. Just that Chris screwed over my brother, and a couple other friends of ours with a stupid scam to get money for drugs. I was pretty sure he was cheating on me too. The night we broke up we had gotten into a big argument, and I slapped him when he said I was nothing but a whore that got lucky because my rich grandfather died. He was mad because I wouldn't give him money for something. Then, to my shock he pushed me back, and knocked me into the wall really hard. I just up and left after that. I stayed with Oz for a few days, then we went to Chicago.

"Sorry to bring it up." Chris said.
"No, it's okay. So have you been clean this whole time?" I asked him.
"Yeah. Since you left. Craig and my uncle helped me out a lot." He said.
"Good." I told him and smiled. We sat for a few more mintues, then headed back down the trail.
