"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Dad, stop it!" I said, when he sprayed me with the hose. He turned it off, and I looked up at it. He was laughing. "Not funny dad!" I said, wiping my face off. I was hoping my mascara wasn't everywhere. "You look like a racoon." He said. "Shut up!" I Said, and through a brush at him. He dodged it, still laughing. We finished bathing Buffy, and then went inside to clean up ourselves. "Look at you two. What a mess!" My mom said, and threw towels at us. "Don't you dare walk in here soaking wet!" She said. We dried off and then went inside. "What is that hideous thing in your nose?" My mom asked. "It's a nose ring." I told her. "Take it out." She said. "No, I like it. And I havn't had it long enough to take it out. It will heal over." "Good." She said. "Mom, I'm not taking it out." I told her. She just ignored me and continued chopping up vegitables. the front door suddenly flew up. "What the fuck is HE doing here?" Jeff shouted. "Jeff! Watch your mouth young man!" My dad yelled at him. "WHY!" Jeff shouted, pointing at me. He was pointing to the back yard and the grill. "Because I brought him, okay. He's different now." I said. "I don't give a flying fuck how he is now!" Jeff shouted. My dad smacked the back of his head. "OW!" Jeff said, and looked at him. "Sorry." He told my dad. "Chris is a very nice young man. It doesn't surprise me that he broke up with your sister." My mom said. "MOM! I left him!" I told her. "That was dumb." She said. "He stole money from a lot of people!" I told her. "INCLUDING ME!" Jeff shouted. "He offered to pay you back!" I told Jeff. "Whose side are you on here?" Jeff asked me. We started arguing, and the front door opened again. "Home, sweet home." My sister said, sarcasticly. We all shut up, and looked at her. "This is going to be fun." I said, and walked back to my parents room to change back into my clothes. I took a deep breath to steady myself. I knew my mom wasn't going to drop the Chris subject, but I decided to try to just ignore her about it. I wanted to actualy enjoy time with my family while I was there. I walked back out and Jeff and my sister were talking, then stopped when the saw me. "Oh please. Grow up." I said. "I just stopped by to say hello. I have a big test tomorrow to study for." My sister said, standing up. She hugged me, then went in the kitchen to say goodbye to my mom. "I'm sorry, I should of warned you Chris was coming." I said, sitting down next to Jeff. "Don't worry about it. I over reacted. I'm NOT being is friend again, but I can swallow my pride for one day." He said. "Thank you." I told him. "As long as you don't date him ever agian." He said. I laughed. "You don't have to worry about that." I told him. "Promise?" He asked. "I promise." I told him. "Can I get a little help in here?" My mom shouted. Jeff and I both stood up and went in to help her. "So, when are you going to school Laura?" She asked me. "I'm not mom." I told her. "That's right. You wasted all your inheratance money from Pa-pa on that stupid music shop." She said. "Mom, it's not stupid. And I've already made back all the money I invested. I'm doing really good in Chicago." I told her. She rolled her eyes like she didn't believe me. I just sighed and helped mix the increadients for the cobbler. I looked up at her and started laughing. "What?" She asked. I tried to tell her, but I couldn't stop. Jeff looked up at her and started laughing too. "WHAT?" She asked, trying not to smile. "You have cherry filling splattered all over your face!" Jeff said, and all three of us burst into laughter. It was great to hear my mom laugh...it was kind of rare. She wiped it off, and Jeff and I helped her get it out of her hair. "It must have splattered when I dropped the can of filling." She said, and I started laughing agian, picturing her dropping it, and not even noticing it splattered on her face and in her hair.
