Christina said...

"Hello?" I mumbled into my phone. I was still half asleep.
"Aunt Lisa?"
"Lola. Who is this?" I asked, and yawned. It was barely even daylight out.
"Oh. Sorry. I was trying to call my Aunt lisa. She is the number above yours on this phone." The guy said. He sounded young.
"Who is this?" I asked agian.
"Oh. It's Smurf." He said.
"Smurf? Everything okay?" I asked.
"Yeah. Hey, do you think you could give me a ride to school?" He asked.
"Doesn't Spence take you?" I asked him.
"Yeah, but he's going through a thing, and he didn't come home last night. I can just call my Aunt." He said.
"No, don't worry about it. I'll come get you." I said.
"Thanks." He said, and hung up. I got dressed, unsmeared my make-up, and pulled my hair back. I knocked on Oz's door and opened it.
"Oz." I said.
"Huh?" He moaned.
"Oz, I'm taking your car real quick." I told him.
"k." He said.
"Oz, what did I just say?" I asked, knowing he was still mostly asleep.
"You are baking the bar." He said.
"OZ!" I shouted, and he jumped.
"What?" He asked, looking at me. He looked funny and I laughed.
"I'm taking your car. I'll be back soon." I said.
"Okay. You are taking my car." He said, and put his head back down on the pillow. I laughed, and shut his door. I grabbed his keys off the coffee table and drove to get Smurf.
When I pulled up to his house he was sitting on the curb. He walked over and got in.
"Nice car." He said, sarcasticly.
"It's not mine." I said, and laughed.
"Hey, thanks for coming." He said.
"Of course. If you ever need anything, call me." I said.
"Okay. Thanks." He said.
"Is Spence okay?" I asked him.
"He will be. He just does this sometimes. He gets so stressed and will just disapear for a few days. He'll probably be back when I get home from school." He said.
"He needs to take some time for himself." I said.
"Yeah. Try telling HIM that." Smurf said.
"You're a good kid." I told him. He just rolled his eyes and I giggled.
"You are. You still have a job if you want one. We can have a part time shift in the afternoons and evenings open." I told him.
"Really? That would be awesome." He said.
"Yes. We all like having you around." I told him.
"Thanks." He said.
"Just come in after school."
"Okay. I'll be there." He said.
"Left or Right?" I asked at the stoplight.
"Left." He said, and I turned. I hated driving Oz's car. It was a stick, and really old so I always had trouble driving it. Smurf kept laughing at me.
"Shut up!" I said, when I stalled the car, and he burst into laughter. When we got to the school he got out and waived good bye. When I got back home Oz was still sound asleep so I crawled into bed with him.
