After an hour or two of not being able to fall asleep I got up and walked to Oz's room. I curled up in his bed and was able to fall asleep right away. The next morning I was awoken by Oz when he got home. "Hey." He said, lightly pushing my shoulder. "Yeah?" I asked, kind of confused. Then I remembered the night before. "Oz, you can't move out." I said, feeling my eyes tear up again. "I need to." He said. "You can't. You're my best friend." I told him. "I was your best friend. Well, I still am, but it's different now. We both know it. We need our own space until we can work this out." He said. "We can work it out here." I told him. He shook his head no. "We need some time apart. We need to let our friendship fix itself over time." He said. "Where are you going to go?" I asked. "I can move in with Alan, the new guy at work. He just lost his last roomate, and needs someone to move in before the end of the month." He said. "Okay." I said, finaly accepting the fact that I wasn't going to change Oz's mind. "What happened? Everything so good." I asked. "We both fucked up royaly. Me especialy." He said. "I can't live by myself. I've never lived on my own." I told him. "You'll be able to find a roomate in no time." He said. "I don't want a stranger!" I said. "Move in with Carmen." He said. "FUCK CARMEN!" I shouted. "Oh, you already did." I said, and he flinched like I smacked him. "Sorry. I didn't mean that." "This is why I need to move out. I'll start packing tonight, and I'll move out this weekend." He said. "Okay." I said, and started to cry. He looked at me for a second then got up and walked out of his room. I pulled his blankets over my head and cryed on his pillow. It smelled like pot, and I giggled. Then I thought of not being able to come home and find him in his room with Pink Floyd playing, smoking his pipe. I got up and went to my room and got ready for work. When I got there Warren and Rachel were working. "Hey. How are ya?" Rachel asked. I squinched my face up trying not to cry, and just walked to the back, and layed down on the couch. "What is it?" Rachel asked, kneeling on the floor next to me. "Oz is moving out." I told her, and lost it when she hugged me. "I'm sorry honey." She said. "You okay?" I heard Warren asked. "Oz is moving out." Rachel whispered. "Oh." He said. "It sounded like he wanted to say something to me, but not in front of Rachel. I sat up and wiped my eyes. "I'll be okay." I said, and smiled. "You sure?" She asked. "Yeah." I told her. We heard the bell on the front door ring, letting us know whe had a customer. "I'll go watch the store." She said, and walked back out front. Warren sat next to me on the couch. "I'm sorry. It's my fault." He said. "No, it isn't." I told him. "I feel like an asshole." He said. "Don't. All three of us fucked up that night." I said. He put his arm around me and hugged me. I put my head on his shoulders and sat like that for a little while.
