Chapter Forty-Four

"Should we have our own Cheaters club?" I asked dryly.
"Yeah. Maybe." Rachel said.
"So how long have you two, you know?" I asked.
"Uh, a while." Rachel said, looking at Jimi.
"I knew Jimi before I met Peter." She said.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah, but I had just started dating Collette." Jimi said. They looked uncomfortable.
"Hey, I'll stop asking questions. What a fucking night." I said, and sighed.
"Hey, it'll be cool. Don't worry about it." Rachel said.
"Yeah, it'll all work out." Jimi said. He was looking at Rachel when he said it though. It looked liked they needed to talk, so I left. I decided to go talk to Oz. When I got home the place was cleaned spotless. Oz was on the couch all jittery looking.
"Look, what you saw this morning-" He started to say.
"Doesn't matter." I said, and sat down on the other end of the couch.
"What?" He asked.
"Doesn't matter." I said cooly.
"Of course it does. We drank a lot, and I missed you, and-"
"She was here. I get it." I said, and even laughed a little.
"I'm confused." He said.
"Honestly. Did you sleep with her?" I asked.
"Yeah." He sighed and looked away.
"I wasn't exactly faithful with you last night either." I admitted. He looked up at me, and looked pissed.
"What?" He asked.
"I slept with-"
"Spence? I knew you still fucking liked him!" He said, standing up.
"No. Not Spence!" I shouted.
"What?" He asked.
"Warren." I told him.
"What?" He asked, looking confused.
"War-ren." I said. "I was drunk and I thought it was you."
"I don't believe you." He said.
"And I think we just found out that we shouldn't be dating each other." I said, and walked back to my room. I shut the door, and he knocked on it.
"What?" I shouted. I felt like I was going to cry and I didn't really want to see him right then.
"I'm really sorry." He said.
"No you aren't. I'm not sure I'm sorry either." I told him.
"What?" He asked, looking sorry.
"I say we call it quits right now, why we can still remain friends." I told him.
"Just like that?" He asked.
"Yeah, pretty much." I said.
"Fine." He said. He shut the door, and I heard him leave the apartment. I started crying, and layed down in bed. I fell asleep and woke up a few hours later. I felt like shit. I walked out to the living room and Oz was still gone. I grabbed my purse and walked down to the store.
"Feeling better?" Rachel asked when I walked in.
"Nope. I called it off with Oz." I told her.
"I'm sorry." She said.
I just shrugged. I looked up and Warren was looking at me. He looked away, and walked to the back.
"I'll be in the office." I told her, and walked back there. I put my purse in the desk drawer, then walked over to Warren who was at his locker.
"Hey." I said.
"Hey. How's it going rock goddess?" He asked. He didn't sound anything like his normal happy, goofy self though.
"I broke up with Oz." I said, and felt myself start to tear up.
"Because of last night? I'm sorry! It was a mistake though." He said.
"Yeah. So was Oz sleeping with Carmen." I told him, and wiped my eyes.
"What?" He asked.
"Yeah. Anyway, don't feel bad about it. We both had fun, right?" I asked, and he smiled.
"Yeah." He said. I laughed, and started to walk away. He grabbed my arm and turned me around. He pushed me up against the row of lockers and kissed me. I let him, then stopped.
"Warren-"
"I've wanted to do that again so bad." He said, and smiled. I had a brief image of me and him in the office on the couch, but shook the thought away, and blushed.
"I should go out front." I told him. He just stood there in front of me though. I put my arms around his neck and kissed him. He picked me up, and I wrapped my legs around his waist. My back was still against the lockers. We heard someone coming, and I put my feet back on the floor and Warren walked a few steps away from me.
"Some guy wants to know if his band can play a private show here." Rachel said.
"I'll go talk to him." I told her, and left.
