"How are your dad and Smurf?" I asked him. "Good. Pops doing good. He keeps yelling at Smurf for getting Penny pregnant. He adores her though. He treats her like a princess." He said, and laughed. "How funny." I said. "Hey Spence?" "Yeah." "What is the hardest thing you've ever had to do?" I asked. "Bury my mom." He said. "I'm sorry." I said. He just shrugged. "I'm afraid of losing my dad." he said, staring at the floor. I put my hand on his leg, and rubbed it. "I don't usualy talk about it. It scares the shit out of me. He's kind of the one person that still keeps me in check. You know? I can still look up to the old guy." "Don't worry about that right now. Just enjoy him. You talk like he's dying. He's not." I told him. "I know." He sighed. Then he laughed. "What?" I asked. "Penny is showing now, and Smurf is starting to get freaked out." He said. I laughed. "I can't imagine having kids now, let alone when I was sixteen!" He said. "Yeah, no kidding. When I was sixteen I was so busy rebeling, I didn't have sex until I was 18." I told him. He looked at me. "Seriously." I said. "Wow. You seem so adventurous though." He said. "I am." I said, and giggled. "I know." He said. "You know whats funny?" I asked him. "What?" "I've known you for what, a month? And I feel like I know you better then anyone else. Closer to you then anyone else. Even Oz." I said. "I feel that way too." He said. "Really?" I asked. "Yeah. I wouldn't have admited I was scared of losing my dad if I didn't feel that way." He said, looking at me. I smiled, and snuggled closer to him. We were both tired, so we just lounged around my apartment that night watching TV and movies. When it was getting late I tried to get Spence to stay over, but he said he had to go back home to keep an eye on things. "Damn." I said, as he was leaving. "What?" He asked. "I havn't been alone in the apartment yet." I told him, and he laughed. "You'll be fine. Call me if you get too scared." He said. "Okay. Bye." I said, and kissed him. After he left I grabbed my blanket and some pillows and curled up on the couch to watch Nick at Night. I felt more comfortable out there then back in my room. I fell asleep almost right away.
