"Hey, look at you!" Spence said when I opened the door. He turned my head with his hand so he could look at my nose ring. "I got it tonight." I said. "I like it. Not everyone can pull that off, but it looks great on you." He said. "It's still a little swollen." I said. "Nah, you can't tell." He said, and walked in. I shut the door really fast and locked it. "Whoa. Relax, I'm here." He said. "I know, I'm just freaked out. I've never lived alone before. And the place seems empty without Oz's stuff here." I told him. "You'll be okay." He said. "You sure?" I asked. "Positive." He said. There was a loud bang, and I jumped. Spence started laughing. "What? That was a gun!" I shouted. "That was a car backfiring." He said. "Oh." I said, a little embarassed. "Come on. Conan has Unwritten Law on tonight." He said, and sat down on the couch. I sat down with him and turned on the TV. The show was just starting. I kept laughing at every little thing, and Spence kept making fun of me. "He's so funny, I can't help it!" I said, and he just laughed. Unwritten Law came on, and played "Save Me". "This is one of my favorite songs." I said. "I like 'She Says'." Spence said. "Me too. I guess I like most of their stuff." I told him. "Same here." He said. I layed my head on his shoulder and watched them play. "Everything was so different a few weeks ago." I told Spence. "Well, life happens." He said, and squeezed my arm. "Yeah. Life happens." I said. "Hey, look at the brightside." He said. "What?" I asked. "You get to lay here with me." He said, and I laughed. "True." I said. "And, you know what else?" He asked. "No, what?" "You get repaid for that wonderful back massage you gave me. "Oh really?" I asked. "Yeah." He said, and sat up. I put a pillow on the floor and layed down on my stomach. He straddled me, and started to rub my back and shoulders. "You're good." I told him, closing my eyes and relaxing. "You aren't the only one who can give a good massage." He said. "No." I said. He rubbed my back for about twenty minutes, then stopped leaned foward and kissed the base of my neck. I smiled and turned over, so I was looking up at him. "How did I let you slip away?" He asked. "You are just a dumb-ass." I said, and he laughed. "I guess so. You look tired." He said. "I am tired." I told him. "Come on, let's go to bed." He said, and stood up, then helped me up. We went back to my room and curled up in my bed. There was a loud bang, like a door slamming and I jumped. "Calm down." He said, laughing. "Sorry. I guess I'm a scurdy cat." I said. "Well don't be, because I'm here." He said. "Thank you. For being here." I told him. "Of couse. It's my turn to be here for you. That's what friends do." He said. I snuggled up to him and we fell asleep.
KABAM!
I woke up screaming! "Shhhhhhh. It's a storm." Spence said, and sat up with me. "Fuck." I said. "You're fine." He said. "I had the worst dream." I told him. "It was just a dream." He said. "Thank god." I told him. "What was it?" He asked. "I don't want to think about it." I said. "Lay back down. Go back to sleep." He said, and yawned. "Let me get some water first." I said, and stood up. "Okay. I'll be here." He said. I got up and walked to the kitchen. I could hear the rain hitting pretty hard against the window. I drank a glass of water, and then refilled it and headed back to my room. I stopped when I got to Oz's room, and went in. The light from the street outside was shining in through his window enough for me to see. I sat down on the carpet and sighed. I felt a hand touch my shoulder and jumped. Spence sat down next to me. He looked hot wearing just his boxers. "Sorry." I said. "It's okay." He said, and layed down on the floor. I layed down next to him, and put my arm around him. "Do you think things happen for a reason?" I asked him. "Sure." He said. "I mean it. Do you really think so?" I asked. "Yeah, I do." He said. I traced my finger across his chest. He brushed his fingers through my hair, then kissed me.
